SMCNHA Endorses Prop 21 to Save State Parks
The San Mateo Coast Natural History Association has endorsed Proposition 21, the State Park Access Pass initiative that will be on the ballot in November 2010. The measure was filed by the California State Parks Foundation to establish a stable source of funding for our state parks. It calls on Californians to support our state park system and wildlife conservation areas by paying $18 annually for a State Park Access Pass surcharge on vehicle license fees. The pass will provide California motorists free admission all year round to all 278 state parks, which now charge up to $14 in entrance fees.

Save San Mateo Coast State Parks Fund
You can also help the parks on the San Mateo Coast during this financial crisis by donating to the Save the San Mateo Coast State Parks Fund.
The San Mateo Coast Natural History Association (SMCNHA), the cooperating association dedicated to supporting the state parks along the coast, has established this special fund to help parks from Año Nuevo to Gray Whale Cove in this time of need. Working to keep these parks staffed, with their interpretive programs and guided walks intact, is our current top priority.
Donations are fully tax deductible and go straight to the local parks, not through Sacramento.
